GS10 Speed Alerts: What to Check Before Speaking to the Driver

A speed alert is a report to examine, not the whole story. Check the threshold, time and journey before drawing conclusions about a work car.

A speed alert helps you review whether GS10 reports exceeded the threshold configured in Plaspy. It does not explain the whole journey or replace the speed limit on the road. Before speaking to the driver, check the event, its time and the relevant route history.

To receive new reports, the GS10 must be installed, configured and powered, with a SIM that has active mobile data and compatible coverage. You also need an active Plaspy service. To view records already stored, you need access to your account and internet on your phone or browser; you can review them while the tracker is offline, but that does not mean new data has arrived.

Start with a clear agreement

For a work car, decide what condition you need to monitor and explain it to the driver. Plaspy has a speed-limit alert expressed in kilometres per hour; see the available alert types. Your chosen threshold is a monitoring rule, not permission to drive at that speed on every street.

The GS10 needs to be installed, configured and reporting. Set up the notification channel you intend to use and check it with a test. A notification nobody receives or reviews does little to help manage the vehicle.

Turn the alert into a specific conversation

  1. Identify the car and the threshold that was configured.
  2. Check the date, time and reported speed.
  3. Review nearby reports in the route history to locate the event.
  4. Contact the driver when the car is stopped and it is safe to respond.

Illustrative example: a report exceeds the agreed threshold during a delivery trip. A useful opening is “let us review this report from this journey”, rather than assuming the alert explains everything. The map supplies location context; it does not automatically identify the driver or the circumstances of a manoeuvre.

What to check during setup

Confirm that the tracker reports speed, that the rule applies to the intended car and that your chosen notification channel works with your configuration. New information depends on the tracker's communication; an immediate alert everywhere is not guaranteed.

If an alert does not match your expectations, first check the configured threshold and the selected journey period. Changing a rule to hide events does not resolve a misunderstanding about the report.

For a private or work vehicle, contact Plaspy about the GS10 package and current terms . Confirm current pricing, package contents and installation separately. The Colombian offer is not a promise of the same mobile service or shipping terms abroad.
